HISTORIC STANTON
Historic

Who is Stanton? Formerly Stanton High School, this historic institution in Jacksonville, Florida, holds the distinction of being the state’s first official public school for Black students, originally serving grades 1 through 8. Currently known as Stanton College Preparatory School, Historic Stanton still stands as one of the oldest continuously operating schools in Florida, serving students from the greater Jacksonville area, including Clay, Nassau and St. Johns counties for many decades now.. It’s been rebuilt multiple times and existed under several names, serving various grades. In 1983 Stanton’s old high school building was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
For many decades, Stanton was the only school black students in the greater Jacksonville area could attend. Over its storied history, the institution played a crucial role in the educational lives of many ordinary men and women. It also produced some outstanding individuals who have had a tremendous impact on the black community, even to this date. One example is the activist, James Weldon Johnson, who wrote the lyrics to “Lift Every Voice and Sing" that became known as the Negro national anthem. Another is Kernaa D. McFarlin, the highly regarded leader of Stanton’s high school band.

India, home to the world’s largest population with over 1 billion people, is known for its vibrant cultures, thousands of languages, and the majestic Himalayan mountains, which include some of the tallest peaks in the world. Hinduism, the primary religion, has shaped much of India’s history and culture, featuring millions of deities and diverse religious practices. While India’s past includes a complex "Caste System," modern laws and societal changes challenge these traditional divides.
TransformABLE's mission is bringing spiritual and physical transformation to this fascinating country through the Gospel of Jesus. Throughout all the world's religious systems, no other being has provided a remedy for sin and opened the way to eternal life for all people as has Jesus! TransformAble shares this good news while working in a variety of ways to help individuals, including children and the aged, with disabilities or other socio-economic challenges.
